I spent a long time trying to rusify the standard be-300 OS, without luck; it's much easier to install BeShell, which comes rusified by itself. HaaliReader can read russian texts right out of the box. Haali comes preinstalled with the latest version of BeShell, but it's called TextViewNG there. Please look at BeShell page .
In addition, BeShell allows you to type in russian using on-screen keyboard. I've read online that there is a character recognition program for russian writing, but it's not a free program (?).
